Finally

After 3 weeks of Snotty noses, and gross coughs we finally got some antibiotics for the boys. I took this of the boys this morning, right before Thomas went to school. Thomas looked so big to me today, and then I realized that a week from today Joseph will be a Big One year old. Wow! Where does the time go?

Camping

This past Friday I went camping with Addy. The weather was perfect, and we had comfortable beds to sleep in. It was a Mother/Daughter camp out. It was Addy's Brownie troop along with the other Second grade troop.
The girls had lots of fun playing games

We rented out two cabins. The girls had one cabin, with two Moms sleeping with them. The Mom's had their own cabin. I don't think most of us "Mom's" got very much sleep, worrying about the girls being in the other cabin, but the girls thought it was fun.

Hopefully next year Savannah and I can try camping out.

Field Trips

This week I went with Savannah to Union Station where we saw " The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe". We then ate lunch down there before heading back to Olathe to do "Play Hospital" the kids learned all about going to the hospital. Last week Allen went with Addy to Science City and the Imax Theater. They saw a movie about Dolphins and Whales, and then explored at Science City.
Allen has missed about a day of work for the past few weeks so that we could spend time with the girls.

Next week, Allen is going to be a Watch Dog at the girls school for the day.

WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering that involves fathers and father figures to help create a more safe and secure learning environment in our nation's schools.

Joseph

Joseph, poor guy diagnosed with Flu B on Monday... has been running fevers since Saturday and just hasn't been himself. Today he finally showed me some smiles again, thanks to Motrin. He spiked a temp of 102 this afternoon, and was very irritable, until Motrin kicked in. Thought I would post these pics because he was smiling so big today.

When Did she get so big?

I have been Spring Cleaning lately, and today I started going through Addy's special box. This is where I put everything from the time she was born up until now. Report cards, awards, postcards, pictures she has drawn etc. I want to know how she went from this... to this?
My baby, my first baby is not such a baby anymore.
We love you so much Addy!

Frogs and Toads

Allen and Grandpa Irwin took the kids to hunt for Frog's and Toads yesterday. It was a success. The kids came home with 5 toads.

The kids let them go today, but had a blast playing with them all day yesterday and this morning.

Smiling Faces

Yesterday afternoon I took the kids to get their picture's taken. I had purchased a coupon to receive a large 10x13 picture of the kids in antique clothing. I am not sure how those photo's will turn out. The boy's were not very cooperative. They sure looked cute though. The above pictures are of the kids while we waited in the hallway before going in for the photo shoot.

I took this picture prior to changing clothes for the photo shoot. This is the picture after I emailed it to my sister Melissa and she messed with it a little bit. Turned out pretty cute huh?
Allen and I have decided it's time to start shopping for a new camera. The pictures are turning out pretty grainy, thankfully our kid's smiling faces still make them great pictures.

Easter 2009

Bri and I took the kids to an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. We even won a prize in a drawing. Addy said, "Yea! we won a basket full of sugar." There was a 4 pack of Pepsi, a chocolate Easter Bunny, and a bunch of other candy. The kids had a great time. Bri took this picture of the 4 of them. Here are the baskets the Easter Bunny filled.

Joseph, was hilarious this morning. He couldn't quite figure out why his brother and sisters were so excited. He had a good time crawling around in the middle of it all.
Thomas was thrilled to find "baby dinosaurs" in one of his Easter Eggs.

Addy got new earrings, an adventure Bible, new Hanna Montana T-Shirt and various other things.

Savannah got a new dolphin necklace, some other toys, a Camp Rock T-shirt... but most of all she got CANDY! Savannah LOVES candy!

We went to Church at 5pm and then out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack afterwards. Here are the kids when we got back home.

Happy Easter!

Bath Time

Today while giving Joseph a bath, I suddenly realized that my little baby, my last baby ever, will be one next month. I always took lots of pictures of the kids in the bath, and I have hardly taken any of this little guy. So, today I grabbed the camera and snapped some pictures. As usual he is as happy as can be.

Saturday Afternoon

We were hope full for 70 degree weather, but settled for the 60's. With this many people in our house we get outside any chance we can get. Today we got the Cozy Coupe out for Joseph. The kids were anxious to help him drive it around.
I love this picture of Allen and Addy

Friday night Campout's

My family this morning when I came home from work.
I have been working Friday nights for years, and a tradition was started long ago that the kids get to sleep with Daddy on Friday nights, when Mommy is working. This started when the girls were small, then when Thomas was older he joined in, and now even Joseph seems to end up in bed with all of them. Here is a picture of what I come home to often on Saturday mornings.

Family Dinner

So, we decided to go out for a family dinner tonight. We arrived at the restaurant, and had to wait about 25minutes. Joseph was fussy, not wanting to be held or sit, only stand. The other kids were loud and hyper. We finally got seated, except that Joseph still didn't want to sit down. So, I decided to check the diaper. WOW! Bad news, this was his 3rd Poopy diaper in the past 2 hours, only I guess it must have happened on the drive to the restaurant, because he had one RED, RAW tush. He was screaming and shaking so bad while I changed him. Poor baby. I had no diaper cream with me. Ugggg! Well, I went back to the table and Joseph continued to be very upset, and refused to sit. So, Allen left to go to the grocery store to get some diaper cream. He was only gone for about 10-15minutes, but with 4 kids to myself in the restaurant it felt like an eternity. Especially since, I was still holding Joseph, and unable to drink my margarita. We were still waitin for food at that time. When Allen got back, I took Joseph back to the restroom to apply diaper cream, only it didn't sooth the diaper rash like I hoped, he just got more mad, and I couldn't get him to calm down. I ended up taking him to the car, where he continued to be fussy, and I continued to think about that margarita, and the chips and salsa that I was missing. After awhile I went back in with Joseph, trying to bribe him with french fries, suckers anything, he just continued to cry. Allen by that time had finished his meal, and volunteered to take Joseph out to the car. Phew! I thought...finally I am going to drink that margarita and eat some food. One bite of my meal and Addy says, "Mom I need to go to the restroom". Savannah says "me too!" Since we were sitting near the restrooms I let those two go, while I stayed with Thomas.. Second bite of my meal. " I have to go Poop Mommy!" Thomas says. Okay, by this time I am asking for the check, and trying to chug my margarita. Savannah ended up taking Thomas in to the bathroom, while I waited for the check. We finally left and went out to the car. Allen was able to get Joseph to sleep in the van. We made it home without any further problems, but once we got home and let Midnight (the dog) in from outside she decided to track muddy footprints all through the living room and kitchen. So, then I spent the next 20minutes cleaning up mud stains. It was a wonderful, memorable Family night.
