Rice Bowls
As many of you know Allen and I have been church searching for awhile. We have visited so many churches in the last few months it was getting tiring. We wanted to find a church that had a good pastor, enjoyable music, a good kids program. Well, we think we may have found it. This Church is unlike any that we have ever been too, its HUGE! I believe it has 14,000 members. We never thought that we would like such a huge church, and it still is a little overwhelming, but the pastor is amazing. What is most exciting to me is what the kids have taken away both times that we have attended.
The first week we attended the girls learned a memory verse, I glanced at it but didn't practice it with them at all that week. Later in the week Savannah said, " Mom you need to sign this for me to bring back this Sunday" I said, "That is only if you memorized the memory verse." At that time both her and Addy stepped back and acted out and recited Psalm 95:6
O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our maker.
I was shocked. I thought to myself Wow! This is great. We will have to visit this Church again. So, we did on Sunday evening. Addy, Savannah and Thomas all had rice bowls to bring home. They are so excited about this! They are supposed to collect CHANGE in their rice bowls to be part of the CHANGE. The funds from the rice bowls will be used to provide food for children in orphanages in South Africa, India, and Haiti. There is also a family challenge of trying to eat a dinner one a week, that is similar to what children in the orphanages would eat. The money saved on the meal than can be placed in their rice bowls.
Today after school: Addy told Savannah and Thomas to get their rice bowls and they went on a hunt around the house to look for money to put in their bowls. She even yelled out "For the hunger" as she was running down the stairs. It was very cute so I had to take a picture of them all.
It is wonderful to see this kind of excitement in the kids, and Allen and I really enjoy the sermons, so we can actually say we are looking forward to next Sunday at Church.
Wings
This how a conversation went in the car today.
"Thomas, look at the sky... what are the white things in the sky called?"
"Looks like snow, Mommy..."
"Those are called Clouds Thomas, they are high in the sky"
"When I get bigger I'm going to fly up there"
"How are you going to fly Thomas?"
"I dunno... Wait! I have an idea Mommy! I will just borrow your wings"
"I don't have wings you silly"
"Oh." he said Disappointed.
Then Thomas became excited and said "I will just have Daddy build me some then."

Remembering...
Today I have been looking through old photo's and things that I have collected over the years. I was going back through pics from my wedding and came across these. Both of my Grandma's had already passed away prior to my wedding, but my Grandpa's were both there. I have since lost both my Grandpa's. I feel so blessed that they were able to share my special day with me. Grandpa Irwin and I

Chuck E Cheese
There it is "Chuck E Cheese" is what Thomas yelled out the window as we pulled up.
This was Thomas' first memorable experience here. The last time we brought him he was about 6months old and we were still carrying him around in an infant carrier.

Mama Mia
Allen bought me the "Mama Mia" DVD for Christmas. We have watched the movie many times, the kids love the music. Today Addy bought the Soundtrack with one of her gift cards. Here the kids are dancing to one of the songs from the CD. Joseph was sleeping during the dancing, but I am sure he would have joined in if he had been awake.

Playing Peak a Boo
Joseph has a new favorite game. Peak a Boo! Thankfully he has a brother who still loves the game. They spend so much time together playing. I am so happy that we had one more. All the playing the boys do, remind me of when the girls were little and would make up their own little games to play. I will have to say I am learning quickly that little boys play much differently then little girls do.
Addy and her Brownie Troop
Addy's troop performed last week at a retirement Center. They had a very large audience and they did great. All the girls sang loud, and smiled lots. At one of their meetings the girls made valentine cards for the residents and they were able to go around and pass them out. I think they made some people very happy that night.
